In Miami, nightlife has always been larger-than-life. Exclusive tables, velvet ropes, and sky-high minimums have long defined who gets in and who stays out. But a new app founded by Alan Eferl is reimagining that dynamic.
Tabler, a peer-to-peer nightlife platform, allows users to post and join premium table experiences. From South Beach hotspots to hidden gems across Miami, Tabler makes it possible to split costs, meet new people, and turn nights out into meaningful social experiences.
“Nightlife has always been about more than the venue,” says Eferl. “It is about who you are with. Tabler makes it easier to find the right people, not just the right place.”
A Founder with a Global Perspective
Eferl’s path to nightlife tech was anything but traditional. Originally from Slovenia, he spent his early years as a professional alpine skier before pivoting to entrepreneurship. After running a vitamin business in his twenties, he became an early player in Airbnb arbitrage, managing more than 100 rental units across Europe.
That business generated millions in revenue before collapsing during the pandemic. Eferl calls it a turning point. “I learned that growth has to be sustainable,” he says. “The foundation has to be strong before you scale.”
Armed with those lessons and his experiences from traveling to over 70 countries, he turned his focus to nightlife. Alan noticed a recurring problem: premium tables often sat half-empty while eager partygoers were left outside. The disconnect sparked an idea. Why not create a platform where table hosts could easily fill extra seats and guests could instantly join the experience?
Miami Leads the Way
Launched in 2020, Tabler has quickly found its strongest foothold in Miami. The city’s mix of global travelers, young professionals, and nightlife enthusiasts created the perfect testing ground. Today, Miami is the app’s largest market, with New York following closely behind. Other hotspots, such as Philadelphia, Chicago, Las Vegas, Mykonos, and Ibiza, are growing organically as users spread the word.
In practice, the app functions like a social marketplace. A host posts their table, sets preferences for who can join, and decides whether to split costs or offer seats for free. Guests can browse available tables, request to join, and chat with other attendees in advance. Afterward, quick thumbs-up or thumbs-down ratings help build social proof, ensuring that the community remains trustworthy.
Safety has been a priority from the start. Group chats and verified profiles give users a sense of accountability. “Especially for women, it matters to know who else will be there before you walk in,” Eferl explains. “It creates a level of trust that traditional nightlife often lacks.”
More Than a Party
Tabler is also reframing the idea of what nightlife can offer. A recent story illustrates the point: a Texas doctor joined a $20,000 table in Tulum, met another guest, and within two months closed a business deal worth $150,000. He later invested in the app.
“People think of nightlife as entertainment,” Eferl says. “But the right connections can open doors far beyond a single night.”
Building the Future of Nightlife
The long-term vision for Tabler goes beyond filling tables. Eferl aims for the app to become a comprehensive nightlife hub, where users can not only share experiences but also book directly with hospitality groups. He is also piloting features for promoters, providing them with instant payouts through the platform and addressing a long-standing industry problem.
Still, for Eferl, the heart of Tabler is simple: connection. “In a world where social media often feels fake, people are craving real experiences,” he says. “Tabler brings that back. It is about being present, meeting new people, and creating memories that last.”
Miami, a city built on energy and reinvention, has already proven how Tabler can transform nightlife. The future is less about status and more about the connections people create together.
Tabler is available now on the App Store and Google Play Store. Download the app to see how you can join the next VIP experience.
