Entrepreneur and founder Michael Carbonara announces his candidacy for office as a Republican candidate for the United States House of Representatives for Florida District 25. His congressional run emphasizes real-world problem-solving as the most effective means of getting work done quickly and effectively in Congress.

Carbonara’s background in scaling businesses and navigating challenging regulatory environments provides him with a unique set of lived experiences based in the private sector rather than purely political ones. This background provides Carbonara with the results-driven approach he plans to bring to Congress, addressing issues with public safety, education, and individual freedoms.

A South Florida Upbringing

Much of Carbonara’s dedication to providing people the opportunity to pursue the American Dream stems from his family’s own journey toward obtaining that same dream. He and his siblings were raised by a single mother in a working-class home, teaching him the value of perseverance and a strong work ethic.

These values inspired him to found Ibanera, a global financial technology and digital payments platform, and Gattaca Genomics, an AI company focused on genetics and support for families facing infertility. Both companies exist in sectors demanding strict compliance and close coordination with banks and regulators, helping Carbonara develop his ability to set clear priorities and keep himself open to learning along the way.

During this time, Carbonara and his wife started a family of their own. His wife’s family fled communist Cuba to find the freedom and opportunity to pursue the American Dream, a goal Carbonara aims to keep available to the people of South Florida and the United States as a whole.

Public Safety and Education Reform

Carbonara’s approach to public safety emphasizes focusing more on repeat offenders and traffickers rather than applying blanket policies that would affect the lawful and unlawful alike. His platform supports effective policing that remains accountable.

When it comes to education, Carbonara stands as a staunch believer in parental rights and a foundational education that teaches fundamental skills, such as math, science, reading, and civics. He believes education should focus on providing knowledge and applicable skills, leaving parents to teach their children about personal values rather than the education system.

Freedom-Focused Governance and Practical Legislation

In keeping with his dedication to enable greater individual freedoms, Carbonara pushes for reforms that would provide more medical freedom, more economic opportunities, and fewer intersections between government and private sectors. Part of his plan for implementing these freedoms is to build on preexisting infrastructure and remove operational bottlenecks to keep costs down.

Carbonara also strongly advocates for practical congressional reform, noting that the only bills Congress votes on should be the ones they read. He similarly aims to keep lawmakers from stock trading to keep the stock market fairer and equal.

Future Aspirations

In the short term, Carbonara plans to reduce the cost of living through smarter spending, more transparent health care prices, and faster building. Upon achieving these goals, he aims to work with and support start-ups and small businesses in the technology industry and beyond. He sees Florida as a future hub for start-ups and other businesses in technology.

As someone who built businesses of his own before entering politics, Michael Carbonara brings a sense of practicality and results-based reform to the election for US Congress as a representative for Florida’s 25th district.

With his qualities, experience, and background, Carbonara runs to create the freedom and economic opportunity needed to pursue the American Dream. Grounded in his entrepreneurial background and guided by the values of hard work and accountability, he aims to bring practical reform to Washington, ensuring South Florida’s communities have the freedom, safety, and opportunity to thrive.
