Soane Materials, Miami’s homegrown leader in regenerative material innovations, is making waves with the appointment of Elizabeth “Liz” Huth-Helriegel as Business Development Director of its Cleaning Products division. Bringing nearly two decades of industry expertise, Liz takes on the ambitious goal of expanding Soane Materials’ market presence in plant-based, biodegradable alternatives to petrochemicals and plastics.

“Liz’s expertise and deep market knowledge will be invaluable as we continue to expand our presence in the cleaning products industry,” says Soane Materials President and Chief Operating Officer, Leo Kasehagen. “Her ability to drive innovation, cultivate key partnerships, and lead strategic initiatives aligns perfectly with our mission to rapidly bring cutting-edge, sustainable solutions to market.”

From Chemistry to Cleaning Innovation
Liz’s background spans major players in the personal care and cleaning sectors, including Brenntag, Clariant, Univar Solutions, Stepan, and Nouryon. At Brenntag, her strategic leadership fueled year-over-year growth through targeted marketing campaigns and digital transformation projects that connected suppliers across international markets. Her credentials—a Master of Professional Studies in Product Management from Maryland Institute College of Art and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Montclair State University—perfectly position her to orchestrate Soane’s high-performance, plastic-free laundry detergent sheet and upcoming flushable wet wipes venture.

“I joined Soane Materials because of their commitment to innovation and sustainability, which will position them as a disruptor in the market,” Liz says. “Their strong customer focus gave me confidence in their ability to develop and deliver solutions that truly align with market needs now and in the future.”

A Boon for Miami’s Green Economy
Soane Materials continues to grow its headquarters in Miami, attracting top talent and catalyzing innovations that promote environmental responsibility. For Liz, that means a chance to champion local leadership in green technology—benefiting not only Miami’s tech-forward ecosystem but also consumers and businesses worldwide looking for cleaner, planet-friendly solutions.

Outside of the lab and boardroom, Liz is a proud mom to eight-year-old Stella and loves to push her limits in CrossFit competitions and Spartan races. Her well-rounded expertise—both professional and personal—will be pivotal as Soane Materials looks to expand into personal care and broaden its roster of sustainable offerings.
