Through its Fall Community School Projects program, the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce Education gave $20,000 to neighborhood public schools on Tuesday, August 27th. The monies were split equally between North Beach Elementary and Miami Beach Feinberg Fisher K-8, demonstrating the Foundation’s continued support of local Education. The contributions were intended to improve educational possibilities.
Members of the Miami Beach Chamber leadership, including Chairman Richard Segal, Vice Chairs Linsey Lovell and Alfredo J. Gonzalez, Chair of the Education Foundation Bruce Gould, and President & CEO Brittnie Bassant, personally handed the gifts to the schools.
North Beach Elementary received $10,000 for its project, “Planting Trees for a Greater Community.” The project, which involves panting Dade County Pines around the school’s campus and neighboring regions, focuses on environmental care. In addition to being an instructional tool, the initiative seeks to improve the environment.
As part of an experiential learning program incorporating ecological awareness, collaboration, and a connection to nature, students will actively plant and care for the trees. To increase the project’s influence outside of the school, students can also plant a Dade County Pine at home as part of the effort.
Miami Beach Fienberg Fisher K-8 was awarded $10,000 for the “Children of the World Park Enhancement Project.” This project aims to create an interactive, sensory-rich outdoor learning environment. The intention is to allow kids to explore and learn in an engaging setting by offering opportunities for creative expression, environmental Education, and sensory enrichment.
The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation’s Chair, Bruce Gould, expressed his appreciation for the initiatives: “We are thrilled to support our local Miami Beach public schools through these impactful projects. These initiatives are a testament to the power of community and the importance of investing in our future.”
President & CEO Brittnie Bassant echoed this sentiment: “The Education Foundation’s work is the cornerstone of our mission to uplift and empower our public education system. We look forward to seeing these projects’ lasting impact on our schools.”
Richard Segal, Chairman of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, added, “It is incredibly rewarding to see how our efforts directly benefit the students and teachers in our community. These projects exemplify the Chamber’s commitment to Education. We are proud to be a part of this initiative and excited to see the positive outcomes it will bring.”
The “Planting Trees for a Greater Community” initiative at North Beach Elementary is anticipated to have lasting impressions. It will teach kids the value of environmental stewardship and improve the school’s landscaping. The initiative develops a sense of responsibility and connection to the environment while teaching practical skills by actively integrating students in the planting and upkeep of trees.
The program also reaches the larger community and raises awareness of environmental issues by enabling children to plant Dade County Pines at home.
The Miami Beach Fienberg Fisher K-8, “Children of the World Park Enhancement Project,” aims to provide an interactive, multisensory outdoor learning environment. The initiative intends to create a distinctive learning environment that encourages students’ interest and creativity by introducing plants that draw hummingbirds and butterflies.
The park’s conversion into an outdoor classroom allows students to engage in experiential learning that fosters environmental consciousness and individual expression.
The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation is committed to supporting the growth and development of schools within the public education system of Miami Beach. Through the Education Foundation, they provide education opportunities as well as medical attention through scholarships and grants for both students and teachers.
