A Modern Problem Drivers Know Well
Vehicle break-ins remain one of the most common property crimes, and many drivers regularly leave expensive items in their cars without reliable protection.
For many people, a car is more than transportation. It’s where laptops, camera gear, wallets, gym bags, and other everyday essentials are often stored, even if only temporarily. Whether stopping at a coffee shop, heading into a movie theater, or going for a hike, carrying everything at all times simply isn’t practical.
The challenge is that leaving valuables in a vehicle can create anxiety. Even when items are hidden, many people still worry about theft or damage. BoostedSafe was created to address this very issue by offering a storage solution designed specifically for use inside vehicles.
A Mission Centered on Safety and Responsibility
BoostedSafe exists to protect what matters most. The company focuses on helping people secure their valuables, supporting secure transport of sensitive items, and encouraging proper storage habits that help protect families and communities.
Rather than approaching security as a one-size-fits-all concept, the company focuses on practical solutions that fit naturally into everyday routines. The goal is to make secure storage accessible, discreet, and easy to integrate into a vehicle without permanent modifications.
The Inspiration Behind the Company
Founder Skyler Baird developed the concept for BoostedSafe after years of personal experience with vehicle security concerns.
As a child, he saw firsthand how disruptive a vehicle break-in could be when his father’s truck was burglarized. Later, while working in video production, he often traveled with expensive equipment and important hard drives. Carrying everything everywhere was inconvenient, but leaving gear in a car without a reliable storage solution felt risky.
The idea for BoostedSafe began to take shape after observing how firmly a child’s booster seat attaches to a vehicle using standardized ISOFIX or LATCH anchor points. These built-in anchors, found in most passenger vehicles manufactured since 2002, are engineered for safety and stability. Applying that same principle to a secure storage product became the foundation of the company’s first prototypes.
After personally funding early development and launching a successful crowdfunding campaign, BoostedSafe entered the market and continued refining its designs based on customer feedback. Today, the company has sold thousands of units and has patents pending for its vehicle-mounted storage technology.
Spotlight on the BoostedSafe Elite
One of the company’s primary products is the BoostedSafe Elite, a vehicle-mounted safe designed to store items such as laptops, cameras, and personal belongings.
A distinguishing characteristic of the BoostedSafe Elite is how it installs. Instead of relying on cables or loose mounting systems, it connects to a vehicle’s existing ISOFIX or LATCH anchor points. This approach allows the safe to remain securely attached while avoiding permanent modifications to the vehicle.
The BoostedSafe Elite is designed to fit commonly carried items, including:
- Laptops up to approximately 16 inches
- Camera equipment and accessories
- Wallets, credit cards, and cash
- Small electronics and personal belongings
Its design also allows it to blend into the vehicle interior, helping it remain discreet compared to more visible storage solutions.
How It Compares to Traditional Storage Options
Vehicle safes and lockboxes have been available for years, but many focus on compact size rather than real-world usability. Some are limited in capacity, making it difficult to store larger everyday items. Others use cable systems that may be vulnerable to cutting tools or removal.
BoostedSafe takes a different approach by emphasizing integration with the vehicle itself. By using factory-installed anchor points, the product is designed to stay in place while still being removable when needed.
While other companies in the broader storage and security space include brands such as Hornady, Pelican, Console Vault, and StopBox, BoostedSafe focuses specifically on vehicle-mounted storage that accommodates larger everyday items.
Designed for Everyday Life
One of the key considerations in the development of BoostedSafe products is frequency of use. Many people carry valuables daily, whether commuting, working, or traveling. A storage solution that is difficult to install or inconvenient to access is unlikely to become part of a regular routine.
BoostedSafe products are intended to be installed once and used whenever secure storage is needed. This makes them relevant not only for travel and recreation, but also for daily activities such as running errands or visiting public places.
Real Feedback from Customers
Customer experiences often provide useful insight into how products perform in real-world conditions. One BoostedSafe customer, Tom C., shared:
“Overall the quality is excellent. The safe is even heavier and more solid than I expected. The cover is beautifully made.”
Feedback like this highlights the company’s focus on durability, materials, and build quality.
Looking Toward the Future of Vehicle Security
As vehicles increasingly function as mobile workspaces and travel hubs, the need for practical and accessible security solutions is likely to grow. People carry more technology and personal items than ever before, and protecting those belongings has become an important part of everyday life.
BoostedSafe continues to focus on refining its products and expanding its reach, with founder Skyler Baird remaining closely involved in design and development. The company’s approach remains centered on solving real-world problems with practical, user-friendly solutions.
By combining thoughtful design with a clear mission, BoostedSafe represents a growing category of products aimed at helping people travel with greater confidence and peace of mind.
